5 Types of Facelifts to Help You Look Younger

Facelift Types

When visiting a plastic surgeon, most patients have the goal in mind of looking as young as possible after having facial cosmetic procedures performed. Many patients are aware of the fact that facelifts can make them look many years younger; however, they often don’t know that there are a few different types of facelift procedures that can be performed. Below are 5 of the most popular options.

1. Liquid Facelift

This procedure is different to a traditional facelift in that no actual surgery is performed. Instead, a rage of dermal or temporary fillers such as Perlane or Restylane are used to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making the patient look a little younger afterwards. While there is little to no recovery time required after having this procedure performed, it is also not a permanent solution, as results normally last a few months at the most. However, it is ideal for patients who need to look good in a hurry.

2. Lunchtime Facelift

Also known as the one-hour facelift or thread facelift procedure, this is a relatively new procedure that is relatively inexpensive and promises quick results. It is also less invasive than regular facelift procedures in that it makes use of specially designed threads to pull up sagging skin around the neck, jawline and cheek areas. Tiny incisions are made into which the threads are inserted. Patients usually notice results almost immediately afterwards and no general anesthesia is required to perform this type of facelift.

3. Stem Cell Facelift

This is a complete facial rejuvenation procedure, but without any form of surgery. It helps make patients look younger by transplanting adult stem cells along with adipose fat into the facial and neck areas, which help to form new and rejuvenated skin and tissue. This works by enhancing the overall volume of the patient’s face, which also improves the texture and quality of all of the surrounding skin.

4. Acupuncture Facelift

Also referred to as an acupressure facelift, this procedure is not an actual facelift; instead, it is more a case of having a systematic massage performed to help release stress and tension from the facial area. This procedure can be performed each day for between 10 and 15 minutes, and one of the main advantages is that no form of actual surgery or dermal peels will be required to obtain results; however, it can take a few weeks before patients notice any difference in their appearance.

5. Lower Facelift

A lower facelift helps rejuvenate the bottom section of the face by tightening the underlying parts of it that droop with age, resulting in the formation of excess neck flesh and jowls. Excess skin is also trimmed away and smoothed out to help eliminate creases and wrinkles, which then provides a visible lift to the face from the lower cheeks down to the neck.

Patients who want to have facelifts performed should consult with a qualified and experienced surgeon, as he or she will be able to determine which of the above mentioned procedures would provide them with the best end results.
