What is Recovery Like After an Otoplasty Procedure?

Following an otoplasty procedure, the patient should wear a surgical dressing, which provides protection and compression for one to two days. There may be some mild discomfort, but the risks for this procedure are otherwise minimal. Wearing a sports band around the clock is recommended during the first week followed by wearing it only at nighttime for two more weeks. To further reduce the possibility of infection, an antibiotic ointment should be applied to the incision area during the recovery period.
