Plastic Surgery Treatments with Very Little Recovery Time

Little Recovery Time Procedures

Each year, thousands of people have various plastic surgery procedures performed. Although many forms of plastic surgery may require somewhat lengthy recovery times, this is not always the case anymore. In fact, many of the more modern procedures enable patients to return to work and their normal routines within a few days at the most. Below are just a few of the most popular options for patients who would like to recover as quickly as possible.

Botox Injections

Botulinum Toxin Type A or Botox injections as they are more commonly known as are used to treat a variety of cosmetic issues. These can include, but may not be limited to helping reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and other areas on the face, enhancing the appearance of the lips and helping to hide the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead area. Other popular uses for these injections include the treatment of severe migraines, helping to control excessive perspiration of the arm pit areas and feet. In most cases, there is virtually no recovery time required and patients can usually resume their usual activities the following day.

Breast Augmentation Surgery

This is performed as an outpatient procedure, which means that patients can return home right after having it performed. Although patients may experience a little pain and discomfort for the first few days after surgery, the stitches ill normally be removed after five days, with most patients being able to return to work within around seven days at the most. The only advice patients usually need to follow after having breast augmentation performed is that they should refrain from lifting heavy items and continue to wear a support bra that will be provided to them at the time tie surgery is performed. Pain medication will also be provided to the patient for the first few days afterwards.

Otoplasty or Ear Reshaping

Many patients are extremely self-conscious about the fact that their ears stick out more than they should. However, that can be rectified quickly and easily by means of Otoplasty or ear reshaping surgery. Although small, concealed incisions will need to be made in the creases behind the ears to perform Otoplasty, the recovery time for this outpatient procedure is usually anywhere up to 10 days. Bandages are worn over the ears while the stitched area heals and the surgeon replaces these with lighter weight bandages after around five days. Once this occurs, patients can usually return to their regular schedules, provided that the ears do not get bent for at least a month afterwards.

To recover from any plastic surgery procedure as quickly as possible, patients will need to follow the post-operative care advice of their surgeons carefully. This may include resting for the first day or two afterwards and taking their pain medication as prescribed to help minimize discomfort. In most cases, patients can return to work within a week afterwards, provided that no form of strenuous activity is involved.
