The fat transfer and injection treatment begins with liposuction to collect the required fat. Many patients choose to remove fat from their legs, abdomen or buttocks, achieving a more sculpted appearance in these areas as a benefit. Once the fat is collected, it is purified to prepare it for injection. Then, the fat will be injected into and around the desired areas of the face. This process can take about an hour but may take longer depending on your specific treatment goals.

What is Recovery Like After Fat Transfer and Injections?
Recovery after fat transfer and injections is unique because you will be healing in two areas. You will be healing at the injection site, similar to after a dermal filler treatment, and in the area where liposuction was performed. As a result, most patients take a few days off of their normal activities to heal and let the initial swelling and bruising fade. Most patients are able to return to their usual routine within about a week of treatment.
What Results Can I Expect from Fat Transfer and Injections?
The results from your fat transfer and injections will be noticeable immediately. However, not all fat will survive the fat grafting procedure, and you may notice some initial swelling after your treatment. For these reasons, your initial results may be a little more exaggerated than you can expect your final results to be. Your final results should be visible within a few weeks. Unlike dermal filler products, the body will not break down the transferred fat over time; you will only notice gradual changes in facial volume due to the natural aging process. This means that the results from fat transfer and injections are essentially permanent.
