SOOF Lift – The Lower Eye Lid Facelift
One of the most common features of aging is the development of bags beneath the lower eyelid. This can present in a number of ways:
- Dark coloration in bags
- Swollen appearance of bags
- Drooping lower eyelid which unnaturally widens eyes
- Excess skin and wrinkles
These issues result from the increasing laxity of the skin and the prolapse of the fat immediately beneath the muscles around the eye.
The SOOF lift (or suborbicularis oculi fat lift) requires a small, inconspicuous incision immediately below the eye or inside the eyelid. The fatty tissue that has descended is then repositioned higher and reattached to the facial bone.
The SOOF lift is a slightly more invasive procedure than other types of specialized facial rejuvenation techniques and can require a week to two weeks to fully recover. Once healed, patients should enjoy much smoother skin beneath the eye and a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

A SOOF lift can often be combined with a number of other surgical techniques if a more comprehensive rejuvenation is required. To learn if you are a possible candidate for the SOOF lift, please call Mardirossian Facial Aesthetics at (561) 624-0900.
