The “Melania” is Now a Facial Procedure

The Melania Procedure

For several years now, women in certain parts of the country (namely Texas) have gone to their plastic surgeons’ offices in hopes of looking like Ivanka Trump. However, with Trump’s presidency and First Lady Melania Trump in the public eye now more than ever, times are changing. The “Melania” is a popular procedure as a result – and not just in Texas, either.

Makeovers in the News

Melania is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful women of our time, and many would say (arguably) she’s the loveliest First Lady in history. With that in mind, women around the world are lining up to go under the knife. One woman’s journey was featured on the esteemed Inside Edition under the headline “Melania in the Making”, which indicates a process rather than a single surgery. The patient, Claudia Sierra, is a cancer survivor and mother who said she wanted to feel like her own First Lady. Per Sierra, Melania Trump is the epitome of power, strength, and in a way even courage, and that’s why her journey is so very important to her.

What the Procedure Entails

The “Melania” isn’t a set of procedures that’s the same for every patient. The procedures required differ from patient to patient based on individual wants, needs, and preferences. For example, Sierra had liposuction, a Brazilian butt lift, Botox, fillers, and a tummy tuck – all part of the “mommy makeover” designed to help women regain their pre-baby bodies. She also underwent revision rhinoplasty and breast reduction, which are two surgeries she’d had in the past, but wasn’t completely satisfied with. Those interested in watching her transformation can catch her story this fall on Inside Edition.

Why Do People Want to Look Like Celebrities?

For some, spending thousands of dollars and undergoing numerous procedures to look like a celebrity – and in this case, the First Lady – may seem silly. For others, though, the benefits are tremendous. Often, the individuals seeking the procedures look up to the celebrity in question. Claudia Sierra sees the traits she appreciates most in Melania Trump, and she feels that altering her appearance to emulate Melania will also help her channel those traits in her everyday life. This isn’t as uncommon as you’d think; people around the world have surgeries every day to resemble celebrities like Madonna, Channing Tatum, and even Mattel’s Barbie doll.

Will You look Just Like Melania?

While talented and experienced plastic surgeons can help patients alter their appearances significantly, matching someone’s appearance exactly is rather difficult. Melania’s close-set eyes, high cheekbones, toned body, and dimpled smile are things that can be mimicked to a degree, though patients should not expect to walk out of recovery looking exactly like the First Lady. Often, it takes several surgeries (and months of recovery) to achieve the desired look.

Throughout history, women have gone to great lengths to look like their “idols” and those they look up to. From childhood, little girls wear their mothers’ clothing, jewelry, and makeup to be like the women they look up to the most. The “Melania” is another example of the same notion; women who look up to the First Lady want to emulate her in actions and in appearance.
